Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of RocketScribe ("we", "us"), the transcription service at rocketscribe.ai. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use RocketScribe.

1. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old and give us a valid email address.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for everything done under your account.
• One person per account. Do not share logins or create accounts to get around limits.

2. Your content

You keep all rights to the files you upload and the transcripts we produce from them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store, process, transcribe and display your content, and to pass it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy for that purpose. We do not use your content to train AI models.

You confirm that you have the right to upload each file, including the consent of the people recorded where the law requires it.

When you import from a link, we fetch the audio from that page on your behalf and keep only the audio. You confirm that you have the right to use that media this way, including under the terms of the site it comes from. Imported audio counts as your upload under these Terms.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use RocketScribe to:

• upload content you have no right to, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• process illegal content, or recordings made unlawfully;
• harass, defame or invade the privacy of others;
• probe, overload or disrupt the service, scrape it, or get around limits, quotas or access controls;
• resell or offer the service to others as your own without our written permission.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Plans, payment and limits

• The Free plan and each paid plan come with the limits shown on our pricing page. "Unlimited" is subject to the fair-use limit stated there.
• Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Account page; you keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for.
• Minute Packs are one-time purchases, valid for 12 months from purchase. Unused minutes expire after that.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in USD and may exclude taxes, which are added where required.
• Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or we decide otherwise. If something went wrong, email us and we will look at it fairly.
• We may change prices or plans. Changes to a subscription apply from your next renewal, and we will tell you in advance.

5. Accuracy

Transcripts and speaker labels are produced automatically and will contain mistakes, especially with noisy audio, overlapping speech or strong accents. Check anything important before you rely on it. RocketScribe is not a substitute for a certified transcript where one is legally required.

6. Storage and deletion

We keep your content according to your plan and settings, as described in the Privacy Policy. Free-plan transcripts are deleted after 30 days. Keep your own copies of anything you need; we are not a backup service.

7. Third-party features

Some features open other services, such as Google Translate or an AI assistant of your choice. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

8. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, that are used for abuse, or that create risk or legal exposure for us or others. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your data.

9. Changes to the service and these terms

We are improving RocketScribe all the time and may add, change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and email you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

10. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or accuracy of transcripts.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50 if that is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
